Yes, AAA Still makes TripTiks

Remember once upon a time, when you went to AAA to get a personalized map, with markers drawn over your route, to guide you before you took off on your road trip?

Good news--AAA still makes them, and even in an age of Google Maps and Waze, they are still relevant.

Two questions: has your phone ever gone dead in the middle of a trip and have you ever lost your signal while driving in a rural area?

That's why you still want to bring along an analog map with you.

You give the AAA your route info, including every hotel you plan on staying at. Then they put a new, expanded version of the old TripTik together for you, with fully written out turn by turn driving directions. This works great if there's two or more of you in the car--as a solo traveler, not so good.

But in a nod to the digital age, you use the QR code in the TripTik to connect to the AAA website, and then you select which leg of the journey you are on. From there, AAA routes you immediately to Apple Maps, and saves you the bother of typing in your destinations.

If you're already a member, take advantage of this fun road trip accessory!
