The beloved Los Angeles institution Langer's Deli turned 75 in June, 2022 and what a perfect time to celebrate with a Photowalk.
Our outings always end with lunch or dinner, so why not the most revered deli in L.A., home to what many say is the best hot pastrami anywhere, even topping New York?
We took a visit to Langer’s this week, where the owners proudly say things are just as they were in the 1960s, the last time there was a remodel, with tan naugahyde booths and vintage lighting fixtures. If there was any nod to the present, it was a huge, flat-screen TV set beaming a slide show of menu items.
We shared a booth and indulged in the classic #19, Pastrami, Russian dressing and Swiss cheese. Sorry I don’t have sratch n’ sniff photos, but you get the idea.
Take a look at the video and relieve the experience!
Langer's has survived in what's become a sadly dying artform, as Los Angeles has seen such revered delis as Greenblatt's, Izzy's and Jerry's Famous Deli close up shop recently.
If you love Pastrami, blintzes, matzo ball soup and rye bread as much as I do, please do me a favor and support your local Jewish deli!
