Best hidden LAX Photo spot for Planespotting

Want to photograph planes landing and taking off at LAX without stepping into the airport and dealing with all that craziness?

I have the two all-time best spots in Los Angeles. One of them is well-known, another is a hidden secret.

Before I tell–take a look at two photos from the spot.

LAX

My favorite spot is the 12th story rooftop deck of the Homewood Suites hotel, 6151 W. Century Blvd.

It’s at the tail end of Hotel Row and near the entrance to LAX.

From the deck, you can look down and see the LAX sign and the airport behind it.

That’s the desk below.

The other great spot is better known.

It’s the In-N-Out Burger at 9149 S. Sepulveda. This is directly across the street from the LAX entrance, and our blog double double gives you a different vantage point.

The planes fly directly over you, really close to the ground, as they prepare to land at LAX. Enjoy a burger and shake at In-N-Out itself, or the runway adjacent park directly across from the parking lot.

Fun!

Two other spots to consider:

Clutter’s Park, 423 E Imperial Ave, El Segundo, CA. This gives you a sideways view of the southern runway.

Standing at the edge of El Segundo, before the tunnel to LAX, to capture the sign, which you’ll never get from your car.

I got this shot while standing at the egd of El Segundo, looking north at the LAX sign. From the Photowalk video.
